Who we are and what we do

Through education our students, guests and staff have gained a greater appreciation for marine life. Funding created through the Education such as the Dolphin Communication Project, has raised over $12,000 to support marine mammal research conducted in The Bahamas. This is achieved by animal adoption kits where guests can follow and learn more about the animals at Blue Lagoon and their counterparts in the wild. The Education Department has collaborated with various NGOs to aid in coral restoration such as The Perry Institute of Marine Science. The Perry Institute of Marine Science is a non-profit committed to advancing marine conservation in The Bahamas. It is also leading the initiative in promoting healthy coral growth, research, and coral restoration. Collaborations like these helps us to recognize the need to educate on species conservation, habitat loss and biodiversity.

Our long-term goal is to reach every student throughout our 700 islands and cays and hopefully ignite an environmental passion that will continue far beyond making a difference. This ensures our unique and diverse ecosystems are here for future generations to enjoy. Outside is our classroom, no walls, no limitations, simply learning through adventure.
