Program times are assigned on check-in at the Sales Center All guests are required to complete a WAIVER prior to check in. Parents must complete for all minors. Provided Life vests are mandatory for all participants in the Shark Encounter. Guests do not have to be strong swimmers, but must feel comfortable in deep water while wearing a life vest to participate in the program.

Minimum age: 10 years old for both programs. Ages 10–12: Must be accompanied in the water by a responsible, ticketed parent/guardian (18+) participating in the same program. Ages 13–17: Must be accompanied on the island by a parent/guardian (with ticket in any program). All guests must be able to go up and down stairs to access habitats. All participants must feel comfortable in deep water while wearing a life vest (provided and required for both programs). Water shoes are required for both programs (not provided, but available for purchase on the island). Only personal masks and snorkels are permitted; fins are not allowed. No drones, scuba equipment, or metal detectors on the island. No outside food or drinks permitted. Lockers are available free of charge for animal encounter participants. Pregnant guests, guests with open cuts/wounds, and/or guests who are menstruating are strictly prohibited from participating in the Shark Encounter. Blue Lagoon Island reserves the right to refuse service to any guest under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs. Blue Lagoon Island may omit specific behaviors/interactions or refuse participation as needed for safety or policy compliance.

No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than 24-hours prior to the booked program. Groups may require a longer cancellation period depending on size. No refunds will be issued for guests who do not meet the program requirements for age, physical fitness, maternity reasons or who violate company policies.
